You will be working on a six stage multi-cache that will lead you around the trails at the Northwest Equestrian Trail Park.
Grass and dirt trails available in daylight hours only.
From the parking area you will have around a 5 mile hike to grab all six stages. The trail winds back and forth so there is little bushwhacking required.
You need a PARKING PERMIT for this cache! But don't worry, it's easily obtained and free of charge. Just call (813)264-3917 and tell the ranger you want to go hiking on the Northwest Equestrian Tail and park at the entrance on South Mobley Rd. (N28 05.147 W082 35.967). They are aware of geocaching activities. With the permit, you'll get the code for the lock on the gate. The permit will be mailed to you or, if you are in a hurry to get the cache, you may pick it up at the Rangers Office.
This park is for horseback riding and hiking. Dogs must be leashed and poop scooped.
There are many other caches in this park. And even without them, it is worth visiting to see this hidden gem of a park: beautiful trails and wildlife galore. You could spend hours exploring the trails. The area used to be a citrus grove (still lots of ageing citrus trees and abandoned 20' tall sprinkler heads around).
