Geocache Description:

The cache is located a short walk along a public bridleway that follows a farmland access track.

This section of Felton Butler Lane was abandoned as a through route when the nearby Nesscliffe by-pass was opened on 27th March 2003. The lane has since been gated, and designated a bridleway. The route is occasionally used by farm vehicles so the road surface can be muddy at times.
Parking in an off road pull-in is located at BNG G.R. SJ 39703 17679; from where it is a 300m walk to the cache site.
The Farmer uses the field adjacent to the cache to dump the detritus from his Chicken units, it pongs on occasions! Cache & Dash.
The cache container is a small black ammo box.
The walk can be extended to make a circular route by using public rights of way across the surrounding farmland.
The first time we walked this route we found the the road surface to be strewn with dozens of empty Snail shells. The location has been known to us as ‘Snail Lane’ ever since.
