Dopo oltre 30 giorni dalla mia nota, non ho ricevuto alcuna risposta nè visto alcuna modifica.
Se non lo hai ancora fatto, per favore raccogli ogni eventuale resto della cache al più presto possibile. Se hai intenzione di intervenire sul cache, una volta completata l'operazione per favore lasciatemi un messaggio con il numero waypoint GC relativo alla cache. Sarò più che lieto di verificare nuovamente la cache per verificare la sua conformità con le linee guida.

Grazie per l'attenzione e per ogni ulteriore informazione ti prego di non esitare a contattarmi o attraverso il message center oppure inserendo un log in questa cache.

La "Torre del Fiume"

Le Quattro Colonne sono il simbolo indiscusso del tratto di mare che va da Santa Maria al Bagno a Lido Conchiglie.
Questi poderosi torrioni sono ciò che rimane di una fortezza ultimata nel 1605, per difendere le coste dalle incursioni dei saraceni e dei corsari nordafricani; vi stazionavano infatti soldati che dovevano segnalare con prontezza l'avvicinarsi dei pirati, accendendo dei fuochi nel punto più elevato della torre.
Tutto il sistema delle torri costiere salentine prevedeva infatti che ogni torre dovesse essere posizionata rimanendo a vista di una torre più a valle e di un'altra più a monte, in modo tale da creare un primitivo, ma efficace, passaparola luminoso/visivo (fuochi di notte e fumo di giorno) che permetteva di organizzare velocemente le difese. Da qui sarete in grado infatti di scorgere Torre dell'Alto Lido a sud (nei pressi della "Montagna Spaccata") e Torre S.Caterina poco più a nord.
Le attuali Quattro Colonne un tempo erano conosciute come la Torre del Fiume per la presenza nei pressi di alcuni piccoli rivoletti d'acqua dolce sorgiva che sgorgano dalle rocce in riva al mare (fino a poche decine di anni fa la gente del posto ne apprezzava le proprietà diuretiche e ne faceva scorta...oggi neanche a parlarne: abbiamo un'immotivata fobia a bere anche l'acqua del rubinetto, quindi figuriamoci!).
L'antica torre fortificata crollò probabilmente non molto tempo dopo la sua costruzione in seguito a qualche incursione nemica o al terremoto del 1743, ma le quattro torri superstiti hanno mantenuto intatta nei secoli la loro maestosità.
Nel dopoguerra quel che rimase della torre venne sapientemente adattato all’accoglienza turistica e all’intrattenimento, fino ad arrivare a vivere un periodo di felice splendore tra gli anni '60/'70: ancora oggi si ricordano le frequentazioni del jet set e le esibizioni di artisti del calibro di Domenico Modugno, Claudio Villa, Ray Charles, Adriano Celentano, Massimo Ranieri, Bobby Solo, Little Tony, The Platters...insomma una sorta di MTV Awards dell'epoca!
Oltre a trovare la cache, nelle Quattro Colonne si può mangiare nel ristorante/pizzeria (ve lo consiglio), prendere il sole, dormire negli appartamenti adibiti a B&B e ascoltare musica live.
E vi assicuro che ballare sotto quelle antiche colonne, a pochi metri dall'acqua e vicino agli scogli, regala ancora oggi sensazioni splendide...

The "River Tower"

The "Quattro Colonne" (Four Columns) are the undisputed symbol in the tract of sea which goes from Santa Maria al Bagno to Lido Conchiglie.
These mighty towers are what remains of a fortress completed in 1605 to defend the coast from incursions of Saracens and North African pirates; indeed soldiers were there to promptly report any pirates'assault, lighting of fires in the highest point of the tower.
The entire system of Salento coastal towers was designed to have each tower placed in sight of a tower further downstream and another one further upstream, in order to have a primitive but effective, bright/visual communications (fireworks during the night and smoke during the day), to quickly organize defenses. From there you'll be able to glimpse Tower of Lido towards Gallipoli (near the "Split Mountain") and Tower of St. Catherine little further north.
The "Quattro Colonne" were once known as River Tower, due to the presence of freshwater spring that flows from rocks along the sea (until a few decades ago local people appreciated its diuretic properties).
The ancient fortified tower collapsed probably not long after its construction as a result of some enemy incursion or earthquake of 1743, but the four towers survivors have maintained intact over the centuries their majesty.
After the war what remained of the tower was wisely adapted to welcome tourist and entertainment, arriving to live a period of happy splendor among 60s and 70s: nowadays many people still remember jetsetters and performances by artists as Domenico Modugno, Claudio Villa, Ray Charles, Adriano Celentano, Massimo Ranieri, Bobby Solo, Little Tony, The Platters ... in short a sort of MTV Awards
In addition to finding the cache, you can also have a dinner in the restaurant/pizzeria (I suggest you so), take the sun, sleep in apartments used a B&B and listen to live music.
And I assure you that dancing under those ancient columns, near the sea and the rocks, still gives today amazing sensations...
