What's so
fundamental about a "Fundamental Benchmark"?
Well nothing
really, a square piece of granite with a mental pin through it. But
it is important enough to have it's own fence, which looks like a
baby's cot.
Bench Marks were used by the Ordinance Survey to
specify a certain height above sea level. This Fundamantal is the
only one on Landranger Sheet 164. (Refer to

I have
caches at a few Flush Brackets and I've been after this Fundamental
for some time. Park at the way point. Not suitable for kids as
you'll have to walk 500 yards along the busy A420 on the soft
verge. In the summer you could walk the field and jump the fence.
Either way it's worth it as this Fundamental is ten times better
than Flush Brackets, which are everywhere.
To find
the cache duck down, as the traffic is at eye level and obscured by
a crash barrier.
Not
recommended for Kids. Please refer to
attributes.
