To get to this cache you will need “special equipment”: i.e. a
trustworthy 4x4 which you are willing to take to Land’s End.
Before setting off, stop at Tolbos Country shop in Patensie, where
you need to pay an entrance fee and collect a map of the Gonjah 4x4
eco trail. Set aside 5-6 hours (and pack a picnic) to complete the
full 4x4 trail.
On this trail you will have spectacular views of the surrounding
mountains and the Gamtoos river valley. It will also test your 4x4
skills (and nerves), although we managed to navigate the road
without any off-road experience… Low range a requirement on steep
hills, and we would not recommend to attempt it during or after
rain.
The cache will lead you to Land’s End, where you look down onto
the Osseberg 4x4 eco trail and you will see glimpses of the
Antoniesberg Mountain pass road. Please take care on the
cliffs.
