Geocache Description:

This is a small traditional cache placed where you can view the new wind farm.
The cache is a short walk from the parking area.

There are 26 giant turbines (each producing up to 3 MW of electricity) at the £60m Little Cheyne Court Wind Farm at Walland Marsh.
The 115m high turbines are German-made and the propellor blades were transported on 78 lorries across Kent from Chatham docks.
The turbine tower is made up of three sections, each measuring approximately 23 metres. The bottom section of the tower was ‘tandem’ lifted by two cranes so that it was vertical and then mounted directly on to the preprepared foundations and bolted in to place. The second and third sections of the tower were then added to the first and the nacelle (turbine hub) placed on top.
Electricity generation is expected to begin in early 2009 and will generate enough electricity to power 33,000 UK homes.
The cache is a small clip seal container.
