Dellwood Park Mini-Mesa Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

JustUsTwo: It's with sad hearts that we have to archive this one! This once lovely hiking area has been overtaken by the sport of paint-balling. We picked up the cache container from where 'pandababy427' found it. Took a walk out to where it should have been. Then decided this area was not cache friendly anymore.

Geocache Description:

Decided to do a little biking today with CoyoteTrust and check out this new park…Dellwood West.  While riding the new trails we noticed several man-made terrain features in the park.  CT referred to them as Mini-Mesas.  Although we weren’t doing any caching on our ride, we did bring along an ammo-box just in case.

The cache can be approached from both the gravel bike trail or from the wood chip hiking trail.  This is a nice little park with some interesting views.  Don’t miss checking out Lock #2 on the I & M Canal,  just north of the bridge to the park entrance.  Enjoy your visit!

The parking coordinates are for Dellwood Park.  There is a gravel bike trail leading under Rte. 171 to Dellwood Park West.  Closer parking may be found at the park entrance.  There is room for a car or two,  but it is a rough ride from about a mile north on Canal Road, accessed off of Davies Avenue from Division Street.  It may not even be legal parking, so your on your own if you choose to park here.
