Bushed? Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Nomex: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

A micro (log only) cache at a "restful" location, just up from the harbor beach, overlooking Pillar Point Harbor.

This is a replacement for the muggled cache originally at this site. The cache location, along a natural pathway on the western side of Pillar Point, provides a place to sit and watch the harbor activities. When the fog is out, you'll have great views of both the harbor and the Montara Mountain area above and beyond El Granada, Princeton and the Half Moon Bay airport. During low tide, it's not unusual to find a lot of folk walking along the harbor beach with their dogs. Stealth is required as this is a pretty popular area, especially on sunny weekends. Free public parking (sunrise to sunset) is available nearby at N 37 30.110, W 122 29.805, but is somewhat limited. Do not park outside of the parking venue as the area - designated/posted as a fire lane - is regularly patrolled and tickets are issued.

For those of you who like to chase after survey markers, there are more than a dozen U.S. Army Corps of Engineers survey markers on the western breakwater section, and an even dozen on the eastern section, so if you go looking for these (www.waymarking.com has the details), be sure to wear some good hiking shoes and get ready for some serious rock hopping! Read: Not recommended for those with weak knees and ankles! The further you move away from shore, the more seagull "stuff" you'll find, so keep this in mind as well.
