Anybody may enter the property in daylight hours, and feel free to search for the cache. As it is an a parking lot that is shared by other businesses, no one will want to know what you are doing there. So feel free to walk around. It is a safe area also.
Small Tupper Ware container with green lid, contains a log sheet, pencil, some small goodies.
Phalaborwa was started in 1940 as a mining town. There are 3 vulcanic pipes, which are mined for mainly copper and phosphate. Go search for the cache at the Phalaborwa Mine Viewpoint, and look down into the biggest man-made hole in the southern hemisphere. The hole is 1,8km wide, and 1,1 km deep.
Phalaborwa has won the cleanest town competition a few times. The name Phalaborwa means "Better than the South". Many moons ago a faction broke away from Lesotho in the south, and moved north to Limpopo province, and found life much better here up north. That is also the reason that there is 2 Sotho dialects - North Sotho and South Sotho.
