Geocache Description:


Time to get in the mood for a summer of geocaching, daylight saving will be well underway and long summer days are not far away.

Let’s celebrate, and anticipate, with a long overdue  Welly event and let’s do it in style!

A chance to catch up with old friends, and meet some new ones. Seems there are a lot of new geocachers active this year and you are all especially invited. Event caches are a great informal occasion and a chance to meet those cachers who so far only exist as some funny name, ask those questions, tell some tall tales and maybe get some tips for those tricky hides and peesky puzzles you haven’t found yet. Out of towners most welcome, hope you can make it!



This event will take place at the Johnsonville RSA, 139 Johnsonville Road, Wellington  between 1pm and 3pm.

At 3pm you are invited to stay and enjoy the entertainment of the Liberty Swing Band who will play between 3pm and 5pm. No matter what your musical tastes nothing beats live music and the sound of an 18 piece Big Band is simply awesome, you will not be disappointed.



And if that’s not enough, grab a $10 roast dinner and stick around for the Jazz Jam to follow!

There is no payment required to attend this event, and likewise no cover charge for the entertainment. You will however need to sign the visitor’s book on arrival, located at the top of the stairs.

Normal bar service is available with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available. Some light snacks such as fries and burgers will be available during the event and up to 5pm.

Children welcome but must of course stay out of the pokie room (R18) and are not permitted to play on the snooker or pool tables (sorry kids).

The posted co-ordinates are for the RSA entrance which is tucked in on the right hand side of the Super Liquor store (see top photo). If you are traveling up Ngaraunga gorge take the Johnsonville turn off and it is immediately on your right as you enter Johnsonville, before the Shell Service station, which is on your left. You will need to find a park in nearby residential streets, please leave the designated RSA car parks for members.
