The southern route to California was Route 66 and the northern route was Highway 30. No famous songs or TV shows to celebrate this road, but the history is still the same. As soon as the Interstate Road systems were up and running, these traveler pit stops closed and moved to the interstate.
As a kid growing up it was such fun going to the 'junction' for the coldest soda in town and to see all the tourists on the road. Now just a memory, it still provides plenty of fun in the placement of this cache.
