“Michigan Spirit
Quest”
The Michigan Spirit Quest series of
geocaches will take you to a number of historic cemeteries
built by MICHIGAN Pioneers. This series is inspired by and is a
continuation of the Indiana Spirit Quest caches created by
SixDogTeam. In just over four years, the SPIRIT QUEST has grown to
over seven hundred caches and the hiders have grown to fifty cacher
teams in 5 states and one province, most of which are comprised of
Dogs and their Humans. Over 1,000
cachers have logged over 20,000 finds. One cache machine found 102
ISQ caches in a single day (daylight hours
only).

WELCOME
TO OGDEN ZION CEMETERY
Zion United Brethren Church was first organized
in 1860 on land given by Erastus Brockway, Ogden's first
settler.
The church was part of the Raisin Circuit, which consisted of 6
churches under one pastor. Zion Cemetery is adjacent to the church.
The first trustees were: Mr. Brockway, Israel Hodges and Daniel
Bay. First minister Rev. Samuel Klotz.
In 1892 a split came forming two branches, the other called Mt.
Zion Church, which then disbanded.
The cemetery has also been known as "The Zion United Brethren
Church Yard Cemetery". Sadly, the church on the property is
currently up for sale by owner.
If anyone has more information on the history of
the cemetery, or the individuals buried here, please let us know.
