THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE POSTED COORDS. You need to solve the puzzle
below to find the cache.
This cache, a camo lock-n-lock, is located in Western Regional
Park in Howard County. If you live in the area with kids in sports,
you probably know about it.
The posted coordinates will put you in a spot in the parking lot
near the trailhead. You will see a large, green clue box here. On
this structure you will find a 5-digit number on the front and a
hyphenated 5-digit number on the back. You will use these to
determine the coordinates for the cache; see below.
The walk to the cache is about ½ mile if you walk on the trail,
which is recommended. You can stay on the trail up until the last
100 feet of the cache. Do not start your approach to the cache from
anywhere but within the park or you will likely be trespassing
through private property.
The cache coordinates are:
N39 AB.CDE; W77 FG.HIJ
Using the two 5-digit code numbers from the green clue
box:
A = The first digit of the sum of the two code numbers
B = The last digit of the result of the back code number minus the
front code number
C = The first digit of the average of the two code numbers
D = The last digit of the back code number
E = The middle digit of the back code number
FG = The reverse of the first two digits of the front code
number
HI = One less than the sum of the digits in the sum of the two code
numbers
J = The last digit of the average of the two code numbers
