Geocache Description:

We bring you here to admire the hard work of the volunteers of the Churton Park Revegetation Group with the support of the Wellington Regional Council and the Wellington City Council. Their aim is to reclaim this stream from the weeds to regenerate the native bush. The winter of 2008 over 1700 trees were planted.

This cache take it name from a plaque presented to this project by an Iranian cyclist traveling the world to promote tree planting. Have a look for this special plaque

Here you are standing near the headwaters of the Porirua Stream. In front of you is the main stem of the stream where the tributaries add their flow before it winds downstream though to Porirua Harbour. Many of the tributaries have being modified over the years as a result of piping for roading and housing, but there is enough stream network still open to supply clean water downstream. It is important therefore that the stream banks are free of rubbish and weeds and planted with native species to enhance the biodiversity of the stream. The native plants attract native birds and insects and with time will form a canopy of plants over the stream to provide a habitat for native fish.

At this point you will find some information that will help you find the cache that is hidden nearby.
