Geocache Description:

A small tube opposite this lost pub in Lamberhurst.

The Horse and Groom was a small friendly local pub serving well kept Real Ale at a time when there were so few pubs in the area that did so. We also came here in the late 1970s/early 1980s because of their excellent steaks.

A photo of the Horse and Groom taken around 1955

It is recorded as a public house run by Samuel Glazier in 1809, it closed between 2000 and 2002 and is now a private house.

This small, circular lock and lock box contains log book and (necessarily) short pencil, a Geocoin, a darts board, and some dice.
If anybody would like to expand the Kent Lost Pubs series please do, we would just ask that you let LVT know first so we can keep track of the Pub numbers and names, to avoid duplication. Please avoid pubs that have become restaurants.
