Geocache Description:

Koch Creek Canyon trail cache

Koch Creek (pronounced Koe Creek) is a tributary of the Little Slocan River near Passmore, BC. The cache is hidden in a rocky area where the creek flows through a canyon.

Koch Creek is one of over 500 waterways threatened due to the province opening up development to private power developers. This area is home to a number of endangered animal and plant species. Truly green power production would not take most of the flow out of the stream through a 5 km penstock. For details visit:

Private power production: coming to a creek near you (visit link)

Turn off Hwy 6 at Passmore (N 49 32.491 W 117 38.955), cross the Slocan River and continue up the hill following the pavement and yellow line. The road will turn to gravel just before the 3 km mark where the Little Slocan Forest Service Road starts on the left.

Look for a junction at about the 10 km mark. The Koch Creek Forest Service Road goes off to the left. To access the canyon trail, follow the small dirt road to the right. The first part of the access road is rough -- it’s a ditch -- so most people will park along the Little Slocan Forest Service Road. Trucks should be able to drive most of the way in. Keep to the right.

It’s about a ten minute walk down road and then trail to the cache.

You're looking for a large plastic peanut butter jar full of swag and a FTF prize.
