After 10 years I think the time has come to call it a day on this one. Another sad day in caching terms. [:(] As I no longer live in Qatar this one needs to be retired gracefully. Really a pity to have to archive such an old cache at an iconic location but unfortunately that is the way this goes in an expat environment.

Geocache Description:

Located near the fountain that was erected to honour the volunteers who helped with the running of the 15th Asian Games hosted by Doha in December 2006.

This is a magnificent fountain that is located in the "Sport City" or "Aspire Zone" precinct that has the Khalifa Stadium as the central focal point.

This huge stainless steel fountain has the names of every volunteer who assisted with the games engraved on the fountain. There is also a beautiful ceramic mural on the surrounding wall. The fountain is also located on a walking / jogging / cycling track that encircles the precinct.
