Reste der Stuttgarter Hospitalkirche / Remains of the Hospitalkirche

Eine Kirche mitten im Wald? Natürlich nicht, aber bei den Koordinaten findet ihr Trümmerteile der Stuttgarter Hospitalkirche. Diese wurde vermutlich in der Nacht vom 12. auf den 13. September 1944 bei einem Bombenangriff stark beschädigt. Nach dem Krieg wurden mit dem Schutt der Kirche und anderer Gebäude die Waldwege der angrenzenden Wälder befestigt.

Im August 2014 wurde der Taufstein, der Bestandteil der Trümmerteile war, wieder an seinen ursprünglichen Standort im Hospitalhof zurückgebracht.

Seit einiger Zeit steht nun eine Informationstafel bei den Trümmerteilen. Darauf findet man nähere Angaben zu den Ereignissen um die Hospitalkirche.

Der Cache ist nur zu Fuß oder mit dem Fahrrad zu erreichen. Bitte bringt einen Stift mit.

A church in the wood? Of course not. But you will find remains of a church (Hospitalkirche) which was damaged during a bombing in the night of September 12th/13th 1944. After the war the wreckage were used to build roads in the forests around Stuttgart.

In August 2014 the baptismal font, which has been part of the remains, was returned to its orginal place, the Hospitalhof in Stuttgart.

Meanwhile an information panel has been installed which provides more data concerning the remains of the church.

You will reach the cache only by foot or by bike. Don't forget to bring a pen with you.
