Geocache Description:

Cache is located along the footpath near the Nenana River. This cache was created to help folks learn something about the great outdoors we enjoy.

50,000 years ago the hotel behind you could have offered lake cruises. Debris dropped from a retreating glacier dammed the river and created an ancient lake called Lake Moody. The north shore was 11 miles away and the south shore was close to these coordinates. After time the lake was filled with sediment and the river cut a new channel creating the gorge you see now.

Across the river in front of you is a distinctive cliff face. Using the storyboards and your powers of observation to complete the logging requirements of this earthcache. Getting outdoors and looking over the landscape is a great re-enforcement to any classroom teaching students received. We are a caching family and highly encourage taking this opportunity to educate a youngster. Being an Earthcache there is NO LOG to sign. To get credit for this cache e-mail Tundra-Quad the answers.
1. What are the origins of the “ancient dust”?
2. What is the approximate height of the cliff?
3. Post a photo from this location.
