Geocache Description:

Cherokee Strip Cache should be an easy PNG for most. The cache is hidden on private property with permission of the owners. Terrain is slightly uneven which explains the 1.5.

Cherokee Strip started as a field in a backgyard. Then down the road, a small Piper Cherokee Plane had a engine malfuncion at the end of the field. The plane crashed, ripping both wings off, landing gear going one way, engine the other. The good news is that both pilots walked away with not even a scratch. The owner decided to put a small Air Strip in that field in dedication for the plane. Just so happens that the town they live in is called Cherokee City.
