Geocache Description:

Quick and easy cache near a peaceful place on the outskirts of Graz.

Recommended parking is at or near N 47° 5.519' E 15° 31.618', lazy people can go a few hundred meters further to the end of the road and park their car there (see additional waypoints).



This will take you to a big caretaking center of the Brothers Hospitallers of St. John of God, a Roman Catholic order founded in the 16th century by St. John of God, who specialized in charity, medicine and hospitals, and caretaking of chronically ill people. This particular caretaking center (their homepage in German) is home to a number of physically disabled and/or mentally ill people. Please exercise discretion and be silent while you are in this area!



On the way to the cache you will also pass by the "forest graveyard", which houses the remains of some of the people who used to live in this caretaking center.



More further down the way to the cache, there is a big outdoor area, which in part is used as a playground for children. Additionally at certain times in the year, this area is used for various festivities (some of them commonly known as "Bierzelt"). You will also find parts of old trains here (see the attached pictures).

The cache itself is a transparent 2-liter plastic box placed in the adjacent small forest. It contains stashnote, logbook, pencil and sharpener (do not remove those items) as well as some trading items. For the first finder, we placed a Portugese 1-€ coin in the cache, and also an Austrian special edition 2-€ coin (both of which are valid money, but could also be used as collectibles). Reception might not be the best, so you might wanna check out the spoiler picture.
