Woot too! Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Reviewer Revan: Cache Owner (CO) has not responded, so I am regretfully archiving this cache to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking new cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace this cache sometime in the future (not to exceed 10 days from the date of this entry), just contact me (by e-mail), and assuming it still meets the current Guidelines, I will consider unarchiving this cache.

Please be advised this is not a guarantee that this geocache will be unarchived. Many factors will go into my decision. The most important of which is how you responded to geocachers who tried to communicate with you regarding the problem(s) with this geocache hide and how you communicated with me, the Reviewer Revan.

Geocache Description:

Medium tube with a screw on top (think Costco-sized spice bottle!) Paved path till the last little bit.

My old stomping grounds sure have gotten civilized! Cache is big enough for some small toys and trinkets, along with logbook and pen. WheresGeorge $5 for FTF. Fairly heavy tree cover, we did the best we could with coordinates.

It has been suggested that I tell a bit of a story as to why I chose this area for my first cache, so if you're interested, read on...

I grew up in this area back in the 70's. Most of the houses in the area weren't here, instead the lots where they now sit were fields ripe for the imagination of some little girls and their horses. Where one subdivision sits now was once a ranch, with a short dirt oval track. I would run my horse around it, pretending we were in the Kentucky Derby. Where the park is now, we would bring our dogs, horses and pup tents and camp out all night, convinced we were all alone on a deserted island. It was also out here that I lost my beloved Pet Rock (for those that are old enough to remember those!). These concrete paths were originally cut by us in the neighborhood, exploring for hours on end. I agree it's beautiful now, but just being here reminds me of a good childhood and a more relaxed time. This cache is in honour of that time, to continue the spirit of exploring, and to reverse the curse of DNFs (I never did find my Pet Rock!). 🙂

CONGRATS TO 4ZEES FOR THE FTF!!!
