The closest up-stream put in is Powers Island. A semi-experienced
kayaker could relatively easily paddle to the cache site and then
back up stream through some mild current to this put in. However, I
would suggest enjoying some of the best scenery that this river has
to offer and completing one of our favorite floats down to the
Paces Mill take out. This float trip offers some fun but easy
rapids through a section of river where you will not be able to
believe that you are ITP! In addition, there are some excellent
fishing opportunities on this section of the river. Dam release
information at Morgan Falls can be obtained by calling (404)
329-1455. As always, do your homework on the area, bring a buddy
and tell someone your float plan.
Cache is a large ammo can. Feel free to drop off travelers here
despite its somewhat remote location and 5 star terrain. I use the
river here year round and can help move along those that have been
sitting. Trade up or trade even please!
If you come across some muggles hanging out on the river close
to the cache site do not worry, they should know about the cache.
The dogs in the area are extremely friendly and would certainly
love for you to play some catch with them. Say high because it is
possible that who you think is a muggle is actually the cache
owner. Have fun exploring this amazing part of Atlanta whether you
have gotten your feet wet in the hooch before or you are
experiencing the muddy water for the first time. Happy caching and
be safe.

muddy water meant to me.”

Congratulations to Axmantis for the FTF!
Small note: Cache is not on East Palisades
national recreation area land which is across the river. It is
located with permission on leeway land that is cared for by the
private town home community Chattahoochee Chase. This cache hide is
similar to GC1A7BP in that it is located on river frontage land
that is not part of the Chattahoochee River NRA.
