This is a nice easy cache approx 400 feet from the parking area.
The Helen Furnace cemetery is located on Miola road about 3/4 mile south of Helen Furnace. There is a small sign labeled Helen Furnace Cemetery.
Most of the original families of Highland Township are buried in this cemetery including Alexander and Jennet McNaughton.
The oldest marked grave in the cemetery is that of Elizabeth Reed who died April 23, 1818 at the age of 86. The cemetery has a large number of unmarked graves. Many of these unmarked graves have Civil War markers.
The cache is a green ammo box. Many items in the ammo box were placed by my 3yo son. There is a Tow Matter travel bug for the FTF. This is a nice easy walk from the parking area.
