In mid-September 2008, the
remnants of Hurricane Ike blew through Southern Indiana, wreaking
havoc and causing millions of dollars in damage to homes,
businesses, etc. When my daughters and I went hiking along Trail 1
to hide this cache, we noticed that this section of the woods at
Lincoln State Park had been hit particularly hard.
When you walk through the
area, you will see many downed limbs, as well as the skeletons of
some huge trees that were felled in the storm. Please watch your
step, as there are plenty of trip hazards in the area.
You’re looking for an ammo can
located just off the trail. The spot will be fairly easy to spot,
but it may take you a little extra time to uncover the prize. Given
the muggle traffic in this area (it’s just down the hill from the
Blue Heron Family Cabins), I wanted to make sure this one was
hidden well. Please make sure to re-hide it better than you found
it, so that others will have the same experience you
did.

you may want to bring your own just in case.
