The footpath begins on the South side of the road at N40 59 851 E009 34 551, follow the path as it winds its way between the hills of Monte San Rocco and Monte de Nostra Signora and slowly climbs to the cache site. As you ascend you will see views to the north of Golfo di Marinella and eventually views to the south of Golfo di Olbia.
I named the cache “On the Beaten Track” as any attempt to go off the beaten track would be just about impossible with the thick and prickly fauna that likes to grow on the lower slopes of the hills in Sardinia.
There is car parking available on the road about 200m east of the start of the path. It is best to do this cache in the early morning (this is when I set the cache) or late evening as it gets very hot in the heat of the day in the summer. I recommend you don’t do this cache in shorts and sandals as the local fauna is sharp and prickly and although only I encountered lizards and tortoises, there is always the chance of less friendly reptiles in this terrain.
