Vienna, Missouri is the county seat of Maries county. Both the city and the county were created in 1855. Vienna is a small town - in the 2000 census there were 628 residents enumerated. (Maries county had a total population of 8,903.) This is a double offset cache that will bring you to the courthouse square in "downtown" Vienna.
The listed coordinates will bring you to Rainey House on Main Street in Vienna. Take the date from the Rainey House sign, and subtract 1367 to get the number XYZ. Travel north on Main Street for a couple of blocks, and you will be at the Maries County Courthouse.
The current Maries county courthouse in Vienna was built in 1940-42. It was extensively renovated in the late 1990s. Main Street runs to the east of the courthouse, and is one of the streets that defines the courthouse square. On the Main Street side of the courthouse, there are three monuments commemorating county residents who have died in our nation's wars. The monument that is XYZ feet from the listed coordinates will point you to the cache.
Take a reading in front of the monument. Look at the Bible verse on the monument. Think of the Bible reference as (Book) AB:CD. To determine the location of the cache container, compute new coordinates as follows: Add (AB+CD) divided by 4 to the North coordinates of the reading you took in front of the monument Add (AB-CD) times 10 to the West coordinates of the reading you took in front of the monument You don't need to walk on the grass - well, maybe a step or two, but not much - and you definitely don't need to dig through any bushes in order to find this cache. Please be aware of nearby muggles and use an appropriate level of stealth!
