Geocache Description:

Tough walk for awhile!

While overseas with the Navy, Chris was searching for a cache or two to do in Sicily. He came upon one that caught his eye called “No Minutes, No Seconds” (or something like that). It intrigued him, so he looked into it deeper and discovered the whole Degree Confluence Project deal. On earth, where the major lines of latitude cross the major lines of longitude, that is called a “degree confluence” No minutes, no seconds. N44.00.000 W070.00.000 is one example of this. Upon further investigation and finding the website: (visit link) it was discovered that there are 12 such confluences in Maine. 10 are on or near dry land and 2 are just off the coast. There is a graphic from the website illustrating this in the gallery.

The SuitedPair were brand new to caching at this time and had only found around 15 caches so far. But, we were hooked! We wanted to place some caches of our own, too, but wanted to come up with something cool; something neat! On the Confluence Project website, we noticed that no one person had ever been to ALL of the confluences in Maine. We have taken this on as a challenge! Not only are we going to visit all of them, but we are going to place a cache at (or really near) all of them as well!

Drive out Rt 15 from Bangor. Look for Bradbury Drive on the right Just after the bank but before the pharmacy. Drive down through the newly built houses until it curves off to the right. When it does, a small dirt road will continue on straight. Head down there and park. From here you are bushwhacking it in to the cache and confluence. There are old logging roads, but they are all over grown and swampy. Good Luck! Once you get past the powerlines, about another hundred yards or so of horrible walking it turns into really nice forest and very nice walking the rest of the way to the cache and confluence.

The cache is hidden about 15 feet to the northwest near a couple of siamese trees. Not hidden well, just out of sight.
You are looking for a .223 ammo box painted camo. The actual coordinates are N44.59.997 x W068.59.995, but you really shouldn't need them.
Post a picture of how close you get your GPS to zero out. Then don't forget to post your confluence visit on confluence.org.

Congrats to Loonsway for the FTF and the confluence visit!
