Geocache Description:

Welcome to Bennington Lake!

Bennington Lake was created in 1942 after a history of damaging floods in the Walla Walla Valley. Mill Creek is monitored during the spring run off and any excess water is diverted into the lake. During the floods of 1996, the lake was almost up to this cache’s hiding spot!

Visitors to the lake may enjoy boating, hunting, fishing, picnicking, as well as bicycling, strolling, jogging, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, and wildlife viewing.

The lake is open year-round 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
