The community of Six Mile doesn't have cell phone coverage,
doesn't have a mayor or city council, but it does have a winding
creek known as Six Mile Creek, it has GPS coverage, and now it has
a GeoCache.
Six Mile was once the home of a noted center of learning called
the Six Mile Male & Female Academy, incorporated in 1859 and in
operation as a private academy until it became a public school in
1902. It closed permanently in 1981. Now the academy location is a
community park with a short, lovely nature trail that winds down
beside the creek.
This cache is also a call to action; because there are no caches
in this area, an area with a rich and expansive history, I'd love
to see some more caches placed out here, so if you come to find
this one, bring a seed cache with you if you happen to know of a
local point of interest!
This is a waterproof matchtube micro with only a few scraps of
paper inside as a log.
