In the Old Town Area Between Negaunee and Ishpeming.You can drive from the Negaunee end to the begining of the trail,which is marked,.From there it is about a 400 Foot walk on an improved trail with a gradual climb except for the last 75 ft. which is a steep uphill.
Site of Frank Matthews Old Home and Cross on the hill which he place in memory of the Miner who lost their lives in the Jackson Mines. View from by the cross is very pretty in the fall when the trees on the surounding bluffs begin to change color. Cache contains normal small items and a Sacagawea dollar for a first finder.
