Common Grounds Series # 7 Norwood Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

GramPy'S: Once again this container is missing. There have been only five DNF's and no Found logs since I last repaired this Cache, I must assume that someone has targeted this Cache and is making an effort to disturb it. Because of this, I have archived this location.

Geocache Description:

A Dictionary provides a Definition for “Common” which reads “Chiefly New England. A tract of land owned or used jointly by the residents of a community, usually a central square or park in a city or town.”
Street parking is available at N42 11.662 W071 12.040

In colonial America, the park was more commonly called the common. These areas were found especially in the New England colonies. The common was short for “common area,” a large area in the center of a village or town where people would gather before and after meetings. The common often contained or was adjacent to the meetinghouse. New Englanders also let their livestock graze on the common. Colonial common areas provided an opportunity for people to gather in a safe place. Many New England cities and towns still maintain a common. Some are established fixtures in a community and some are more recent additions. All still serve their original function of providing a safe meeting place.

This Cache has no room for a pen or pencil and has room only for the Log. Please bring a pen or pencil to sign the Log.
