Cache is a small plastic container with log and pencil and a few tiny items, plus mini prize for FTF.
Although there are currently no official trails to this cache, a new one is in progress which you may be able to find and follow. Otherwise, the cross country route is not too difficult but the lack of trail does make it a Terrain Level 4. Greasepot and I made the approach starting from an old jeep road off of the Mountain Mulhy Trail at approximately N: 39.38.295 W: 105.21.317.
When I was an elementary school kid back in the '60s, the poor old elephant was the butt of many silly jokes (just as chickens, blondes, "yo mama" and others have been). Naturally, when faced with the prospect of climbing Elephant Butt(e), this elementary school humor came to mind. For those of you who weren't around in the '60s, and for those who'd like a stroll down memory lane, I've included some of the old sillies below. If you have a personal favorite, please post it in your log--remembering, of course, that this is a family-friendly site!
Q: Why do elephants have round feet?
A: To walk on lily pads, of course!
Q: Why did the elephant paint his toenails red?
A: To hide in the strawberry patch. Have you ever SEEN an elephant hiding in a strawberry patch? See! It works!

A: They are both purple. Except the elephant.

I tried to think of a "good elephant joke" to explain a detail of this cache--and failed miserably. If you come up with one, please include that, too! The question I came up with is: How do you know when the elephant has been hitting the Mojitos again? Hopefully you will have fun finding the answer.
