Green Arrow. Two parts Robin Hood, one part Batman, one part
Warlord of Mars, shake vigorously and you have Green Arrow. This is
one character that has literally gone to hell and back, and still
has the cojones to have a sense of humor about the whole
thing.
Like most characters, his origin story has changed over time, but
the crux has stayed the same. Oliver Queen, playboy millionaire,
finds himself stranded on a deserted island, struggles to survive
by living like Robinson Crusoe, finds his way back to civilization,
fights crime as
Green
Arrow.
Welcome to
Fort Tryon
Park.
You are practically standing "on top of" New York, as not far from
here is the highest point in New York City, at
Bennett
Park. Nearby you should see the gardens and grounds of Ft.
Tryon Park and The Cloisters. There's a beautiful view of Hudson.
You should walk around and explore. You might turn a corner, or
walk down a path, and find one of the many little beautiful nooks
and hidden spots. Just south of the cache location (less than 80
meters), is an awesome stone arch that is just... awesome.
Fort Tryon is the location for an
annual medieval
festival where an archer such as Green Arrow would fit in
perfectly. In fact, I saw someone dressed very much like him when
placing the cache.
Container is a long camo'ed tupperware container. Please make sure
it's closed securely, and re-hide as well, if not better, than
found. And of course, beware of muggles. They can see you long
before you can see them.
**Also, there is a homeless resident, just north of the location
(north of the stairs), in what I believe is the BEST camouflaged
spot EVER! It's difficult to see even when you know it's there. I
don't think he's a danger, as I've only seen him once. EVER!
Congrats to G.O. Cash for the FTF!
