Opp Goyt Mill, Bridge 4 over Macclesfield Canal
Cache on the side of the Macclesfield Canal nr bridge #4 adjoining Marple Golf Club opposite the local landmark, Goyt Mill
Built as cotton spinning mill in 1905 its chimney was slowly demolished starting in 1979 but the mill survives with around 50 businesses in occupation from saddlers to climbing walls.
The Macclesfield canal forms part of the Cheshire ring which was one of the first cruising ring routes after the restoration of the canals in the 60s
The cache site has good views over Manchester and sunsets and the lights of the city can be spectacular in the evening.
