Geocache Description:

Blaen Bran Beauty is located in Blaen Bran Community Woodland, Upper Cwmbran. It is along fairly good, well marked paths which may occasionally get muddy or have loose gravel in places.

Blaen Bran Community woodland is made up of two areas - Blaen Bran Farm and Coed Gwaun y Fferiad.
Blaen Bran farm is built into the hillside but all that now remains are a few stone walls.
Gwaun y Fferiad can be translated as 'Priest's Moor'. Legend has it that a priest lived here in the middle ages and was hanged on the moor.
Remains of the old coal workings can still be seen. Coal was supplied from here to the tin works in Caerleon.
This is a beautiful area to visit. It is stroller accessible and dog friendly.
