Geocache Description:

I intended this to be 1st of a mini cache string extending from B.O.S.N. & Marshal OD’s Gone But Not Forgotten cache so please find theirs first & enjoy the waterfall!
Also please use their parking coordinates & starting point recommendations. My Exploder got to Fry Creek just fine though.

For our mountain biking friends, Monkeydog, Plazmo, Scoobert, etc, you can probably bike 95% of this route & it will be pretty easy. There is a small brushy spot at the beginning & again about 1/3 of the way. The power & telephone companies are using their quads on it so it is staying cleared enough. Traveling this stretch will give you an appreciation of how narrow & winding the old route was! There are some cool rock shoring & even a little tiny spot of pavement for Plazmo’s thoughts… although that spot seems to be sliding down the hill!

If you HAVE to, you COULD start on the east end at milestone 29 but unless you have a US Forest Service key, you will have to park in the small spot on the North side of the road between the little creek & the driveway with the gate (Do not park in the driveway in front of the gate!) If you are parking here, please be careful & do so at your own risk- you know how busy Hwy 50 can be. Don't even attempyt it in winter.

I have hiked on this stretch of old road quite a bit in the last 20 years & in this particular spot, I have always seen deer, quail, grouse, squirrels & even a bear & badger eying each other! (The badger won the stare-down! -mean little buggers) To find out why this Oasis is here, please see the information given in Cold Spring No More.

The Cache is placed in a typical geo-spot… just use the force as I don’t know how well the cords will be with the tree cover.Sorry Scoobert, this one is going to be hard to find with just a little snow. Yes, that is a hint.
