The Safest Cache in Derby Acres Traditional Cache

elrojo14: I decided this week to archive this cache. Once the lock was broken off and it was behind the fence, it just wasn't cool anymore. So ELIEIO and I came to retrieve it today.

As I pulled up there were like 5 local kids playing in the huge mud puddle in front of GZ. I told ELIEIO to stay out of the mud and go play on the playground. I listened to a mom chastise the kids for getting into such a mess as I climbed over the fence and no one seemed to question or wonder what I was doing. I got in, unbolted the cache, and climbed back out. The parent left in her car and the boys were still there playing in the mud. So I took a photo of them and they were more than happy to pose.

I remember spending many days at the Derby Acres Park all through my youth. The local recreation department used to have games for us to play during the summers and we would come down here at any time to play on the swings or the merry go round.

This park is actually much nicer than it used to be. There are nice horseshoe pits now, the playground equipment is new, and the basketball hoops actually have rims.

So enjoy the Derby Acres Park.
