BIG ROCK little rocks Traditional Cache

30-caliber ammo box
This is the first cache we’ve placed, and it’s along one of our favorite bicycle routes. The route is actually a well-traveled vehicular dirt road that nearly forms a loop along the south side of Highway 165, about 3 miles east of I-25/Bernalillo. Look for a BIG ROCK, larger than a VW, right next to the dirt road; in fact the road seems to go around the BIG ROCK. The cache is NOT at the BIG ROCK, but nearby. There is ample parking approximately 100 feet west of the BIG ROCK.
There are two entrances to the “loop” road – the western entrance at N35º 18.244’ W106º 29.168’, and the eastern entrance at N35º 18.135’ W106º 28.907’. Whichever entrance you choose, it’s a scenic route, so be sure to take in the views, especially as you gain altitude when nearing the cache.
