Do not go to the given co ords, it is a little damp there.
The title is the location of the 1st waypoint (+ - 50m in each direction.) This uses a soon to be redundant system widely used by outdoor folk since before GPS was a twinkle in some boffins eye
A look at a topo map will reveal the location of the first waypoint, which has one of the grandest views on the port hills..
When you get there, you will find a plaque in the obvious place.(some of you will be familiar with this) Write down the date as DDMMYYYY
Delete one of the nines to give you DDMMYYY
Add that number to each of the following
E 874701 N4123196
E_______ N_______
This will give you the east and north values of this spot with a total of 14 digits. At this stage they may not exactly match what you have on your GPS at the site. Dont be concerned
At waypoint two, there is a white post with two digits on it. In numerical order, they are A, B. The location I got for this post was E2479005 N5727387
Now if this post is 111 E and 2 S from the plaque, the final is 10B W and 1AB S of the post
The following link may help. (visit link)
If you are not too keen on the cross country thing, you can get within cooeee of the cache on tracks, you will need to travel a bit further thats all
As usual, when up on the port hills, do keep an eye on the weather, be aware it is often a lot worse than down on the flat, and you may need wind/waterproof gear. This would be a less than scenic place when cloud is clinging to the hills. There are tracks of varying quality and a little bit of rock scrambling to be done. Be careful
