Up The Creek
CAUTION:Traffic and Open Water! Please be careful if bringing children!
Just-off roadside, Can be mucky after rainfall.
Please close the gate after you even if it you found it open, thanks.
Roadside parking is available near cache site.
Cache is NOT accessible from the M18, but from the R458/R471.

Latoon Creek refers to the lower reach of the Ardsollus River at the point of its confluence with the River Fergus.
The Ardsollus River is a tributary of the River Fergus which in turn is a tributary of the River Shannon.

Within a space of about 40 metres, there are three crosssings over Latoon creek. The oldest of the three bridges, Crow's Bridge, is a protected structure, a three-arch road bridge built circa 1810. Crow's Bridge was in use until the opening of a replacement bridge in the 1970's as the increase in both volume and size of vehicles was proving too much for it.

The 'recent' bridge is still in use but has been demoted from National to Regional status.

The New Bridge was officially opened for business in January 2007, bypassing Ennis and reducing journey time on the N18 by 20 to 30 minutes. In August 2009, this N18 segment was upgraded to Motorway status and is now the M18
