OS Explorer 225 covers all walks bar the southernmost leg of Walk 1, which is on OS Explorer 208.

Each cache will be hidden on one of the six circular walks described in the Ouse Valley Way Walks pack, printed and distributed by Countryside Services,Huntindonshire District Council.

These leaflets are highly recommended as they contain a wealth of information along with the route instructions.

I obtained my pack from Paxton Pits Nature Reserve for the princely sum of £3, but you can also obtain them from the Countryside Services office in Hinchingbrooke Park.

This Cache is hidden on Walk Number 4 “Godmanchester to Houghton”. The walk is 8miles (12.8km), with the Ouse Valley Way section being 3.5miles (5.6km). See map below.

The route takes you through a little known Nature Reserve managed by Lafarge and past the memorial stone for the "Peter Prince Memorial Nature Reserve" (Peter Prince was a scientist who worked with the British Antarctic Survey). The memorial stone is at the side of a bridge across the river into the reserve itself.  Unfortunately the reserve is private, so you cannot walk around it.  You may however, see a kingfisher flying along the river if you are lucky.

You can start this walk from Godmanchester in the South (park at the free car park in Post Street) or Houghton (park in the village square or at the National Trusts' Houghton Mill) to the North.

The walk is only suitable for "all terrain" buggies as although the stiles have been replaced with gates, the bridges are still quite difficult to negotiate..

There are a number of other caches not far from the walk,so check on Google Earth (you do have the Geocache Browser plug-in don't you?) before you set out.
