While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for the cache owner and block other cachers from placing a cache in the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can’t do so forever.

Nothing seems to happen with this cache listing, so it is now archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if it hasn’t been done already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

If the owner wants it reopened, send me an e-mail and I’ll be happy to unarchive the cache listing if it still satisfies the requirement/guidelines.

Geocache Description:

Aker Brygge er kanskje Oslos største attraksjon for tilreisende, Iallefall kan det oppleves slik en varm sommerdag.

Aker Brygge ligger på restene av gamle Akers Mek, som ble lagt her, på vestsiden av Pipervika, i 1854, og var i drift som mekanisk verksted, og etter hvert skipsverft, fram til nedleggelsen i 1982.

Idag framstår Aker Brygge noe anderledes, som shoppingsenter, og eksklusive kontorlokaler og leiligheter, og høyt prisede halvlitere og rekeboller i sommerhalvåret.

Cachen er plassert ved det gamle klokketårnet fra Akers Mek, som er bevart og plassert ved kaia hvor nesoddbåtene legger til.

ta deg tid til å lese plaketten på klokketårnet, og å nyte utsikten mot Akershus Festning og Hovedøya når du først står ytterst på kanten.

Plassen er også et yndet sted for solslikkere og andre som vil sitte i fred å lese eller gjøre andre ting på finværsdager, så logging kan til tider være vanskelig.

EDIT: cachen er flyttet borrt fra klokketårnet, men ta gjerne en kikk på klokketårnet allikvel!

ENGLISH:

Aker Brygge might be one of the most popular tourist attractions in Oslo, or at least it can feel that way on a sunny summer afternoon.

Aker Brygge is built on the remains of Akers Mechanical workshop, wich was palced here, on the west bank of Pipervika, in 1854, and was in buiness as a mecahnical shop and a ship yard until 1982.

Today Aker Brygge is a pulsating shoppingsenter, high priced cafe/restaurant/bar area, with exclusive office space and appartments.

The old clock tower on the pier, are from Akers Mek, wich was restored, and place on the dockside.

And last, but not least, if its not to much to ask. Please write the log in english if you can't write a scandinavian language. I really enjoy reading the logs, and Dutch, GERMAN and spanish for example, are Greek to me....
