Geocache Description:

Travel the historic K & P Trail south of Barryvale approx. 5.4 km.
The K & P Trail is the abandoned bed of the Kingston to Pembroke Railway (The K & P) and was converted to a recreational trail many years ago.
The K & P is hard packed gravel and you can travel by most vehicles, atv, bicycle, or hiking.
The south K & P is maintained by Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority. It is used as a snowmobile trail in the winter months.

Access to this cache is by the K & P Trail. The cache site is locally known as “Twin Ponds” but called Mud Lake on maps of early 1900’s.
Normally you will find beavers hard at work ensuring a short section of the
K & P is flooded. No worries – hard gravel bottom – easily passable. Usually not more than a few inches of water across the trail.
On a hot summer day the clean water splashing your legs will feel refreshing.
