This walk will take you through the dry valley between Hawkshill(in Walmer) and Oxney Bottom and its wood, or part thereof.
The northern part of this walk is known as Knight's Bottom, whilst the southern part is the known as the Lynch.
There is a small wood between both these points known as Great Coombe, after which you will enter Oxney Wood.
The supposed haunt of such spectres as the famous Grey Lady, and many other not so famous such as the Highwayman, Suicidal Naval Officer, The Phantom Stagecoach, and the Monks that are supposedly seen walking the wooded areas, so be sure to complete this cache before sundown.
Camping out is not recommended for the faint hearted - although this wood is public land and you can camp there if so desired.
A word of warning. Please stay to the paths in the area. You do not need to journey off them far to find the cache. The wooded area located southwest from the cache site is privately owned land - and whilst some of the trails do lead into that area (towards the kennels) we ask that you do not venture in there without the owners permission.
One other possible highlight of the journey - keep a keen look out for the fiesta!
Happy hunting.
