Geocache Description:

"If You find it, Pick it up~All Day long you'll have good luck!" You do not need to go into the creek to access cache ...Cache is located along Redemeyer Road...Parking is at a pull out in front of vintage No Tresspassing sign... Check out the creek as there are some interesting rock formations just here in this little roadside creek! Your looking for a Micro container, packed with swag! Be carefull as this can be a busy road at times. Keep the kiddoes safe on the side.

Your almost in the middle of the Ukiah Valley Mayacma Fault line and believe it or not, the entire Valley has the "potential" for a large seismic event. Earthquake faults identified in the Ukiah Valley run southeast to northwest, a tendency that occurs in the Mendocino Highlands. (the geologic name for this area of the state). Over millions of years, portions of the Highlands were dropped by fault movement resulting in the main north-northwesterly valleys in the County, including the Ukiah Valley.

With the Valley that we live in and the potential of a "large seismic event" one can only think if the probability of the Coyote dam breaking its walls and flooding the entire Ukiah valley.
Well, if that happened chances are you would be under water while snaggin this cache and ALL of Ukiah would be flooded all the way out Boonville road, Orr Springs road. all of 101 would be covered from South of Hwy 253 up to Calpella! This is considering the dam was at full capacity, which we havent had a problem with recently. So look across and imagine the mountains as the shores to Lake Ukiah should a catastophic event such as that ever happen...probably wont, but its been speculated!...and this lil miss Mayacma would probably be at FAULT!

So with the "potential" of a seismic occurance, it cant "really" happen...OR COULD IT??? You'll have to see exactly what this fault is capable of!~But thats another cache :)
