Tucked in the trees by the side of the road is a small abandoned quarry. It's a great place to look at the rock and if you can cope with scrambling up to the higher level on the left you will find a brilliant high wall. Ash and sycamore have colonised the area, but no pine. The damp shade has led to the growth of several large and beautiful ferns.
You can now park very close, we suggest just as the road widens. About 12m NW from there is a gap in the foliage, which will lead you into the quarry. When the leaves are on the trees it feels like a secret and enclosed space. It also makes GPS signals hard to get so the clue may be useful!
Five-ninety Fun! A loose series of cache & dashes along a road I travel frequently! Each cache is a different style/size of hide and they are in curious corners or by fascinating features. See bookmark list on right.
