Be aware that this park has a “no dogs allowed” policy to protect the wildlife, in particular the ground nesting birds which are protected.
The area is open year round and is frequented by bird watchers, school groups and family’s out for a walk, especially along the bird trail which has a number of bird feeders placed along the path. During the winter if you bring bird seed or chopped unsalted peanuts, the chickadee’s will eat out of your hand. I have also fed baby woodpeckers, and last fall spotted a number of wild turkey’s along the trail.
This is a very busy spot with hundreds of muggles weekly visiting this spot.
