Here’s just a bit of history about this place…
Just a little south of here, on the west side of the road (the
approach is still there), Manor School #2104 was built in 1910.
Land was donated by William Johnson, and the school was named by
him. It was supposed to have been called “Manna” which
meant “anything much needed which is unexpectedly
supplied.” Through some error, possibly in the Department of
Education, the school was named Manor.
Manor School was closed in 1953 and the students were then
bussed to Three Hills. The Manor Gospel Church congregation met at
the school for awhile until they built their own church. The school
was purchased by Paul Sterling. He moved it to his farm, one and a
half miles north of its original site, where it still stands today
and is used for storage!
We hope you enjoy this cache and think for a bit about the
history of this place! Please take a moment to change the time of
the attached pocket watch to the time you were here.
