Geocache Description:

The cache is in Del Valle East Bay Regional Park. There is a $6 entry (parking) fee.

The cache has be moved back to it's original location. Coords have been updated. A short climb up a rather steep hill is no longer required. The hike is shorter and easier if you park at the Marina inside the park. However, you can park on Del Valle Rd (outside the park) and take one of the many trails that lead toward the lake. By doing this you will avoid the $6 entry fee, but the hike will be longer and quite steep going back. It is perfectly legal to do this. The cache is located approximately .50 mile from the Marina parking lot just east of the East Shore Trail. It is an easy hike on a fire road (trail) and suitable for kids. You will have to do just a little “bushwhacking” to get to the cache. This is a wonderful area to hike with your dog, since they can be off leash and swim in the lake. There are a number of caches at Del Valle, so you can spend an entire day geocaching and hiking in a very lovely place. You can download a map of the park by going to (visit link)
